Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled CAD Business Analyst to support and enhance the use of NX and SolidWorks applications within our organization. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the validation, troubleshooting, and optimization of CAD tools, ensuring seamless integration with business processes. This role requires close coordination with multiple departments, including Automation, Tech Review, Teamcenter Development, Supply Chain, and Systems Operations, to support Model-Based Definition (MBD) capability upgrades.

Key Responsibilities:

1. CAD Application Expertise & Validation

• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for NX and SolidWorks, ensuring best practices and standards are met.
• Conduct thorough validation and testing of newer versions of NX and SolidWorks before deployment.
• Serve as the Point of Contact (POC) for evaluating and implementing new CAD versions, ensuring compatibility with existing workflows.
• Analyze software updates and provide feedback on functionality, usability, and any potential impact on production.

2. Issue Resolution & Technical Support

• Identify, analyze, and resolve production-related CAD issues, ensuring minimal downtime for end-users.
• Develop and implement workaround solutions for technical challenges faced by design teams.
• Create and manage incident tickets with CAD application vendors, ensuring timely resolution of software-related issues.
• Document known issues, troubleshooting steps, and solutions to support future problem resolution.

3. Business Requirements & Process Enhancement

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements for CAD automation tools and enhancements to Teamcenter’s design functionality.
• Develop and maintain detailed Business Requirements Documents (BRD) to define system enhancements and automation solutions.
• Support the development and deployment of automation solutions to improve efficiency in CAD operations.
• Work closely with IT and development teams to ensure seamless integration of new tools and processes into existing CAD workflows.

4. Training & Knowledge Management

• Conduct CAD training sessions for business units, project teams, and new employees.
• Develop and maintain training materials, including step-by-step guides, FAQs, and best practices for NX and SolidWorks.
• Regularly update training content to reflect changes in CAD software, industry standards, and internal processes.
• Manage and update training-related information on internal platforms, such as the Steam site.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Coordination

• Work closely with Automation, Tech Review, Teamcenter Development, Supply Chain, and Systems Operations teams to support Model-Based Definition (MBD) capability upgrades.
• Provide inputs and recommendations for enhancing CAD functionalities to improve efficiency and collaboration.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings to align CAD-related initiatives with broader business goals.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Expert-level proficiency in NX and SolidWorks with hands-on experience in design, modeling, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Experience in business analysis, process improvement, and requirement gathering for CAD applications.
• Familiarity with Teamcenter PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and its integration with CAD tools.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to conduct training sessions and documentation.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams and coordinate with multiple departments.
• Experience working with CAD vendors and managing software support tickets.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

• Knowledge of automation tools and scripting for CAD processes.
• Experience in PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems, specifically Teamcenter.
• Understanding of Model-Based Definition (MBD) and Digital Twin technologies.
• Prior experience in CAD migration projects and system upgrades.
